The 121st Southern Battle of the Blues played between St. Servatius’ College and St. Thomas’ College ended in a draw today at Hambantota.
After been put in to bat first, St. Servatius’ College posted 253 runs on the board for their first innings, with Kushan Wijerathne top-scoring with 70 runs off 143 balls with 8 fours. Hirusha Jeewadith and Sineth Dissanayake starred with the ball for the Thomians, taking 3 wickets each.

In reply, St. Thomas’ College showed a dominant batting display posting 312 runs for 8 wickets before declaring the innings in the 88th over. The right-handed batsman Hirantha Lakshan top-scored with a brilliant century for the Thomians. Lakshan’s knock of 127 runs came off 163 balls with 12 fours and a six.

St. Servatius’ College began their second innings 59 runs behind and displayed a much better batting display this time round, posting 170 for 2 at the close of play on day three. Diniru Abeywickramasinghe starred with the bat for Servatius’, scoring an unbeaten 103 runs off 168 balls with 10 fours.
