Sri Lanka was unable to repeat the winning comeback they did against Uzbekistan in the 9th place playoff, while Iran won the championship after an exhilarating three sets against Japan in the 2nd Asian Men’s U23 Volleyball Championship.
Sri Lanka vs Uzbekistan
The match was played between the two teams to determine the 9th and 10th places. The previous match which was played between the two teams was won by the Sri Lankans 3-2, coming from two sets down, giving some sort of an advantage even in this match.
However the Uzbekistanis were able to identify the weak spots of the Sri Lankans and they dominated the whole match providing them a 3-0 victory this time. The scores of the three rounds were recorded as 23-25, 21-25 and 21-25.
And with the win over the Sri Lankans Uzbekistan team won the 9th place of the championship while the Sri Lankans had to be satisfied with the 10th place.

Malaysia vs Kazakhstan
The match was played for the 7th and 8th places of the match. After a tight competition between the two teams, Kazakhstanis were finally able to win the match by 2-3, winning the 7th place of the championship. The scores were recorded as 25-22, 11-25, 23-25, 25-20 and 10-15
China vs Pakistan
The Chinese won the 5th place of the Championship comfortably defeating Pakistan 3-0 in the match which was played to decide the 5th and 6th places of the tournament. The scores of the three rounds were recorded as 25-18, 25-13 and 25-13
Thailand vs Chinese Taipei
Chinese Taipei grabbed the bronze medal of the U23 Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship defeating Thailand by 3-1. The scores were recorded as 19-25, 25-21, 25-23 and 25-22. Pakistan team had to be satisfied with the 4th place after this defeat.
Iran vs Japan
The finals of the U23 Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship was played between the former champions Iran and Japan. Both teams were at their best playing exceptionally well throughout the whole tournament. However, the Iran team was too strong for Japan in the finals. They clinched the championship winning the first three sets. The scores were recorded as 27-25, 26-24 and 25-20.
The championship concluded as Iran team was crowned as the U23 Asian Volleyball Champions for the second consecutive time while the Japan team won the silver medal.
