Textured Jersey recorded a 6-wicket victory over DIMO to clinch the Emerald Ceylon Tea Cup MCA ‘B’ Division 50 0ver Tournament at the finals played at the MCA Grounds on Saturday.
DIMO batting first managed only 158 runs all out in 39.2 overs. Right-handd Lasith Abeyrathne made a fighting 37 while former Benedictine Jason Perera stroked 30 runs. Son of Champaka Ramanayake, Hashen Ramanayake contributed with 23 runs. Chinamen bowler, Lakshan Sanadakan (3/42), Gihan Rupasinghe (2/18) and Nalaka Amarakoon (2/27) troubled the DIMO batsmen with disciplined bowling spells.

Chasing 159 runs to win, former Sri Lanka U19 cap Nilushan Nonis and Sri Lanka ODI player Gihan Rupasinghe steered the chase for Textured Jersey. Nonis mustered 62 off 46 deliveries with 9 boundaries and 3 sixes while Rupasinghe stroked a blistering 65 in just 36 balls with 2 boundaries and 8 mighty sixes over the rope.
