Rugby Legend Mallikarachchi passes away

    Former Sri Lanka and Kandy SC captain, national selector and one of the most admirable center three quarter’s the country ever produced, Sajith Mallikarachchi died of a heart attack early this morning. Sajith rubbed shoulders with some of the international giants in the likes of Fijian Waisale Serevi, Australian Matt Giteau, All Black Eric Rush and many more.

    Last year Sajith was also appointed to the national selection committee under Michael Jayasekera. He was a part of the dazzling Isipathana College 1st XV during 1996/97 and then went on to represent the mighty Kandy SC from 1999 to 2007. During the 2005/2006 season he captained Sri Lanka and was a part of the Tuskers set up for close to a decade representing the country in the Hong Kong sevens 5 times and the Dubai sevens 3 times.
