Rain over Welisara calls Navy vs Police encounter to a halt.

Navy sports club whom started their champagne in grand motion took on the Spirited Sri Lanka police yesterday at the Welisara Navy camp.

The sailors whom were on the offensive from the kick off were looking to punish the Police for any and every infringement conceded. Navy opened the scoring putting  the visitors under tremendous pressure. Chanaka Chandimal  played an instrumental role distributing the ball out wide letting loose the aggressive Navy backline and inflicting panic on the police defense that contested hard to maintain their composure. Nuwan Hettiarachchi, Jason Dissanayake, and Dhanushka  Perera crossed the goal line for the sailors while the Police kept their hopes alive through a solitary penalty by Arshad Jamaldeen.

The weather turned unfavorable by Halftime much to the woe of an exuberant crowd. The encounter was called off due to bad weather and is due to commence today at the race course grounds Colombo starting from the score at which the match was abandoned 22-3 in favor of Navy sports club.
