Kavindu Ishan penalty gave Air Force vital three points against Up Country Lions after the match recommenced yesterday after it was rained out on Saturday in the Dialog Champions League.

Air Force center forward Kavindu Ishan scored the only goal in the match by a penalty kick before the match was stopped because of bad weather. 

After some good playing by both team players in midfield, from the 5th minute Lions skipper Nalinda Konara tried to reach visitors net but they were not successful. Right after that Air force center forward Kavindu ishan entered to the game in an attacking style but Lions goalkeeper H.M.Luthfi managed them well.
It was an unfortunate time to Lions in the 9th minute due to slippery ground conditions, the ball zipped and came to the left hand of the defender lasantha nuwan who was inside the penalty box and it was the penalty time to the visitors. Kavindu Ishan placed it to the left corner of the post and made the score board 1-0.

After that Lions forwards tried to score but the finishing were not successful. In the 20th minute rain started again and from that players haven’t chance to do their best. In the 30th minute match stopped because of heavy rain and bad ground conditions.

The match recommenced from the 31st minute, both teams showed extreme performance throughout the 1st half but none of them scored a single goal and remained as 1-0.

Airforce tried hard for a second goal before their rivals equal the score and they got the opportunity to convert their effort in to a goal in the 65th minute by the Air Force striker Kalum Perera.

This made Up Country Lions to engage in the game much better than before and as a result Johnson Shaibu scored a superb goal in the 67th minute.

This made a bold spirit within them, but with the aggressive style of the Air Force players, it made hard to go for a second goal. Harsha Fernando and Kavindu Ishan of Air Force were awarded with yellow cards in 69th and 70th minutes. At the final moment Up Country Lions got a free kick to equal the score but the attempt was not that successful to convert it into a goal.
