Asian International School are the defending champions of the boy`s title as they beat Gateway College – Colombo in thrilling final last year. However, the AIS boys have not been in the best form after their disappointing exit in ThePapare Basketball Championship 2016 which was played in July. Despite the disappointment they will still be favorites for this year`s title if they do come up to their pace in time.
Lyceum International School, Nugegoda will be defending the title in the girl’s category. They have been a dominant force in the arena for quite a while and this year too they will look to provide some skillful basketball.
