The District winners were finalized for the Samaposha All Island U15 Football Championship which will be held at the Albert F.Peiris Stadium in Wennapuwa.
In the Nawalapitiya/Gampola, regional favorites St. Mary’s were rampant in their unbeaten title run as they racked up an impressive tally of 18 goals conceding as little as 3 goals in response.
St.Joseph’s & Megodawewa MV win A’pura U15 Championships
St. Mary’s started things off with a clobbering of Baddha College Gampola, when they sent in 7 goals (7-0). Gampola International proved to be a short lived challenge for St. Mary’s in their second group clash as they pushed them aside with a 4-1 score line.
Hameed Al Husseinie and Gateway wins in Colombo U15 Championship
After being handed a walkover against Kalugamuwa MMV Gelioya, St. Mary’s faced off against Ginaraja College in the quarters. They made it look easy against them as they strolled past their opponent by 3 goals to 1. Al-Ikma MMV couldn’t handle the gallant St. Mary’s force as they were beaten 2-0.
Despite being a closely contested tie, the finals didn’t prove much of hurdle to the Marians’ as they notched up an impressive 2-1 victory over Benhill College Gampola to lay claim to the title in the Nawalapitiya/Gampola district.
Maliyadeva Boys & Girls win Kurunegala U15 championship
For the final round there will be 33 Boys’ teams and 25 Girls’ teams participating.
