Sri Lanka Navy Sports Club went on to complete a rousing 46 points to 10 points victory over Sri Lanka Police Sports Club in their SLRFU Dialog inter club ‘A’ division league rugby tournament first round match which was continued at Welisara today.

Navy SC who were leading 22-3 when the game was halted at half time on Saturday due to bad weather continued with their dominance over their opponents and went on to add three more tries to their tally and earn a bonus point as well.

The sailors eventually wrapped up the game and their second successive victory in the tournament in style while collecting their points from five goals, one try and two penalties while Police SC responded with a goal and a penalty.

Navy SC’s three tries were scored by the Fijians Stefano, Mathaka and third row forward Bilal Hassen with dynamic full back Nuwan Hettiarachchi converting all three tries and also putting over a penalty. 

The only scoring for the Policemen was a corner flag try by scrum half Ijaz Bohoran which was converted by fly half Arshard Jamaldeen who also put over a penalty on Saturday. 

Earlier Navy SC scored 22 points on Saturday through three tries by centre Stefano, flanker Danushka Perera and wing three quarter Lee Keegeal with Nuwan Hettiarachchi adding the extra points to two tries and firing across a penalty before the game was called off due to bad weather.
